A note about reading this journal and joining the conversation.

Last updated October 5, 2026

Abraham Walker operates this journal. You can read the entries without creating an account. The services described below help deliver the site, understand visits, and provide comments.

Hosting and fonts

Cloudflare delivers this site and may process information such as your IP address, browser details, and requests to keep it available and secure. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser sends Google the information needed to request those font files, including your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.

Google Analytics

This journal offers optional Google Analytics 4 on abrahamwalker.com to understand which entries people read and how they use the site. Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” It does not run on local previews or temporary hosting addresses. Its reports represent visitors who allow Analytics, rather than everyone who reads the journal.

Analytics can collect page addresses and titles, referring sites, approximate location, browser and device information, time spent, scrolling, outbound link clicks, and file downloads. It uses cookies to distinguish visits and sessions. Google says Analytics 4 uses IP addresses to determine location, then discards them before logging the data.

The journal’s Analytics property has a 14-month retention setting for event and user data. Google signals, advertising personalization, and user-provided data collection are disabled. I do not send your name, email address, or comment text to this Analytics property.

Your Allow or Decline choice is saved in this browser’s local storage so it can be remembered on later visits. Use “Analytics choices” in the footer to change it. Declining stops this journal’s Analytics tag and removes its accessible Analytics cookies; changing from Allow to Decline reloads the page. This choice concerns the journal’s Google Analytics, separately from Disqus comments and advertising.

Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s explanation of Analytics cookies. You can manage cookies in your browser or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Comments through Disqus

Entries with a comment section load Disqus automatically when you open the page on abrahamwalker.com. This connects your browser to Disqus and its service providers, even if you do not leave a comment. The free comment service may show advertising.

Disqus can use cookies for features such as signing in and keeping you signed in. It may process account, device, IP address, and browsing information to provide its service. I have disabled Disqus’s optional anonymous visitor tracking for advertising on this site. That setting does not stop the connections or information needed to load comments and ads.

See the Disqus privacy policy for its practices and visit Disqus Privacy Choices to manage data sharing or make a privacy request. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings.

Published comments and the profile information displayed with them are public. A signed-in profile does not establish someone’s legal identity. Please avoid posting private information about yourself, children, or other people.
